About Me

I was born and raised in Southern California. I studied abroad in Hong Kong during my junior year at UCLA, where I graduated with a B.A. in Political Science.  During my undergraduate years, I was responsible for analyzing and crafting a new program of recycling for UCLA laboratories as part of my student-led Action Research Team. I began working at Twentieth Century Fox (Film, TV, and Sports) upon graduating, where I was given the opportunity to give back to the community through TCF's corporate social responsibility programs. TCF partnered with myriad non-profits such as After-School All-Stars, Downtown Women’s Center, the Regional Food Bank, Challengers Boys and Girls Club & the Mar Vista Family Center. I  joined TCF's Triathlon Team, through which I fundraised for pediatric cancer research at Children’s Hospital LA every year through social media, marketing, silent auctions, and partnerships with local businesses. I then began representing and advocating for parents looking to adopt and obtain appropriate benefits for foster care children, also through TCF and in conjunction with Public Counsel, the largest pro bono public interest law firm in the world.

I became a Board Member of Net Impact LA, a non-profit devoted to maximizing the impact of social enterprises before I began serving as a Kiva Fellow in Vietnam. Through Kiva, I was able to research and implement new renewable energy loans (e.g., solar home systems, solar water pumps, biogas) to simultaneously mitigate detrimental effects on the environment as well as help local Vietnamese improve their health and incomes. Through working on these renewable energy loans, I discovered it would be most effective & efficient to focus on efforts that meet the triple bottom line. Also, I came to realize that climate change is the most imminent threat the human race currently faces on this planet & without a livable planet, there would be no humans left to help. I then accepted a position in Tanzania as a Business Development Consultant, Project Manager & Product Manager, for a Silicon Valley based off grid solar company, where I built partnerships with banks, telcos and entrepreneurs to more effectively increase the uptake of home solar. I then managed these partnerships and pilots associated with these partnerships in three different African countries. I've had the experience of a life time and I cannot wait to make an even larger positive impact on the environment & thereby human life in the future!
